iPhone Reduced to $399, Apple Offers Store Credit to Early Adopters

Apple announced that it is on track to sell its one millionth iPhone before the end of September, and to make iPhone affordable for even more customers this holiday season, it is lowering the price of the most popular iPhone model with 8GB of storage from US$599 to $399. “The surveys are in and iPhone customer satisfaction scores are higher than we’ve ever seen for any Apple product,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’ve clearly got a breakthrough product and we want to make it affordable for even more customers as we enter this holiday season.” The new pricing takes effect immediately.

However, early iPhone adopters aren’t shafted because they will be given $200 worth of instore credit if they show a receipt. However, some customers have already been complaining that they were unable to receive their credit. This isn’t the first time Apple has done this either, however, because Apple is also offering $7000 store credit to those who still have their Apple Lisa receipts from the 80’s. At the time the Apple Lisa retailed for $9000 and was quickly replaced by the Mac.
